Along with all that, of course, are the amazing burgers. And with it being within the Los Angeles County area, you can expect to find some of the best burgers in Long Beach.
Long Beach is a burger-lovers paradise and is home to some of the best burgers you’ll find in the Los Angeles County area. Whether you’re craving burgers that lean more simple with the standard toppings (patty, bun, tomato, lettuce, cheese, etc.), fast food burgers, or something more on the creative side, there’s a burger joint in Long Beach to cure your cravings.
As a resident of the LA County area for more than three years, let’s just say that I know my way around the burger scene in Long Beach. To help you avoid hunger pangs and get your burger fixing, I created this complete guide, as told by a local, to help find the perfect burger, and fast.
Enough talking, let’s get into it. Here are the seven best burger joints in Long Beach!
7 Best Burgers Long Beach, CA
1. Dave’s Burgers
Dave’s Burgers is definitely more of a hole-in-the-wall burger joint– it operates out of a gas station parking lot after all.
But as true foodies know, these inconspicuous spots tend to have the best food in town. Since 1956, Dave’s Burgers has been proof of that, cooking up some of the best burgers in Long Beach, bar none.
Dave’s offering is simple and to the point, and that’s just the way we like it. You can go for the Regular Cheeseburger if you want a true classic, which is exactly as it sounds. Or you can opt for the hearty juicy Jumbo Cheeseburger, which is generously garnished (aka loaded) with grilled onions, tomato, lettuce, cheddar cheese, and a bun of course.
If you want something more unique, be sure to try out the Jumbo Cubby burger, which features more meat with the added sliced hot dog and, of course, more cheese. You can never have too much cheese.

2. Simmzy’s
With four locations throughout Southern California, Simmzy’s has quickly grown to become a local favorite, and it’s easy to see why.
It’s all about location location location as real estate agents preach, and Simmzy’s didn’t miss the memo. Their Long Beach location is right on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore, within a few feet of both the ocean and the bay.
That’s just the start of course, as Simmzy’s has hungry LB locals and visitors covered when it comes to seriously good burgers in Long Beach.
Simmzy’s has a full menu, complete with dishes ranging from onion rings, wings, and mashed potatoes to wood-fired pizzas and tacos. But the real stars of the show are the amazing burgers jampacked with flavor.
For a traditional burger, go for the classic Simmzy’s Burger, packed with a thick beef patty, Tillamook cheddar, onions, garlic aioli, lettuce, and sliced tomato. If you’re looking to treat yo’ self, you have to grab the Billionaire Burger. This burger comes loaded with flavors via American Wagyu beef, aged cheddar, candied bacon, pickles, and horseradish mayo, all served in a pretzel bun.
Pro tip: Head out to the outdoor patio area to eat your burgers (yes, plural) and drink a few beers. It’s the perfect spot in town to grab a bite and people watch with those beautiful views of the water this area is known for.
Pro tip #2: Simmzy’s is available for pickup and delivery as well if you want to grub at home in peace.

3. Crack
Looking for a burger that will have you wanting to move to Long Beach (if you haven’t already)? If so, then Crack is the perfect place to have your mind blown– it seriously has some of the best burgers in the Long Beach area, hence the restaurant name “Crack”. Very fitting.
The fact that this hidden gem is, well, hidden, makes it even better. It’s tucked away on the inside of the gift shop at the Bixby Village Golf Course.
It’s one of those places where you’re just casually playing a round of golf, casually hanging with friends, and laughing at old memories. Out of nowhere, your nose lures you into this unassuming gift shop, and boom– you’re hooked. And now you’re getting Crack takeout every other night after work.
In all seriousness, it really is that good, but you have to try it for yourself. To start, try the Bacon Jam Burger or the Dirty Burger. Or get both– we’re not here to judge.

4. Proudly Serving
Proudly Serving is, you guessed it, proudly serving amazing burgers in Long Beach along with a few other things.
The general consensus is that the P.S. Burger has the title of the best burger at Proudly Serving. They serve these burgers with cheese, griddled onions, pickles, their secret sauce, and loads of meat via a double-smash burger and served on a butter-toasted potato bun.
However, The Founder Burger is also a great option on the menu. In fact, it’s the only other option on the menu and is made with that double-smash burger, cheese, yellow mustard, white onion, pickles, and ketchup.
The three sides they serve include duck fat fries, duck fat tots, and the salty chocolate chip cookie. It’s a very simple menu, to say the least, but sometimes what we all need is fewer options to choose from.

5. Hangry Belly
Never leave hangry. That’s the motto you see on the homepage of Hangry Belly’s website, and also something that they take very seriously.
Launched only a few years ago in 2020, Hangry Belly has since become a local favorite restaurant, cooking up seriously good food and some of the best burgers in Long Beach.
While all the burgers are absolutely prime, do yourself a solid and try the Cali Burger, which comes with Thousand Island, shredded lettuce, tomato, a fried egg, avocado, cheese, and a 1/2 lb beef patty.
If you’re in search of a great burger for meat lovers, go for the Messy Meat Eater. As the name implies, these burgers are stacked with brisket, BBQ, bacon, American cheese, and a 1/2 lb beef patty on a potato bun.
Bring the kids too. Hangry Belly’s Little Piggies section has two options just for the kids: the Bok Bok chicken tenders and the Plain-O-Cheeseburger.
Pro foodie tip: Get your meal with a side of fries, what they call their Pig Me Ups. They have waffle fries, seasoned fries, truffle waffle fries, and brisket fries. You can’t go wrong with any of them, true story.

If you’re looking for great craft beer and specialty cocktails, or maybe even a place to celebrate your birthday with a few brews, Congregation is the perfect local joint. Along with the great drinks of course is great food that is worth a try.
For starters, try out the bacon tots or the asada fries. When you’re done, grab either the Double Bacon Cheeseburger or the Diablo. Either way, both are packed with meat, sauces, flavor, and everything you’re in search of in a good burger.

7. VBurger
If you’re looking for a vegan burger, VBurger is one of the best restaurants in Long Beach by far.
In fact, it’s one of the few restaurants in the area that only focuses on offering 100% vegan burgers. Founded by a family of animal lovers, VBurger serves burgers, fries, sausage dogs, and shakes that are all 100% plant-based.
But of course, we’re here to talk burgers. You can go for the Straight Up Single (1/8 lb patty), The Deuce Deuce (1/4 lb), the Three is the Kind (1/3 lb), or the 4×4 (1/2 lb), and all burgers are served with chili, mac, guacamole, or sausage.
Regardless of which you choose, all burgers are made with either an Impossible burger or a Beyond Meat patty, and the choice is completely yours.
