If you’re a breakfast lover, Jam! is one of the best restaurants in downtown Bozeman that’s hard to beat. It’s centrally located right on Main Street in the middle of the action, so it’s perfect for locals and visitors alike.

On the menu, Jam! is serving breakfast that all breakfast lovers will, well, love. They have everything from the usual favorites like Huevos Rancheros, stuffed French toast, or the Breakfast Burrito to creative options like the Pulled Pork Omelet (my favorite) to the strawberry vanilla balsamic Jam Crepe. As a guilty sweets lover, the stuffed French Toast was one of my favorite dishes at Jam!.

The friendly service and rustic but cozy vibe at Jam! make it the perfect spot in town to enjoy a leisurely breakfast or brunch. This is also one of the local favorite spots for an amazing cup of coffee, so coffee lovers will feel right at home.

Next up is Revelry, a staple in downtown Bozeman that’s super popular for its great pizza and a nice selection of wines and beers to choose from. The spot is located on North Tracy, which is right off Main St in the downtown area.

On the menu, you’ll find great pizza options like the Meat’zza, White Pie, and Fungi. Beyond the pies, they have everything from Mac & Cheese and Japan Chicken for appetizers to the Montana Burger and Harvest Salad for your main course.

Personally, my favorite meal at Revelry– and in Bozeman in general– was the Japan Chicken for starters, followed by Brussels Caesar, and finished with the Hot Honey pizza to wrap it all up. Was it too much for one person? Yes. But did I scoff it all down? Absolutely. It’s that good.

Ted’s Montana Grill

Meat lovers: This is likely to become one of your favorite Bozeman restaurants.

Though it is a chain with many locations throughout the U.S., the downtown Bozeman location is a truly special place since it is the only location in Montana. And considering Ted’s Montana Grill’s Montana roots, they had to do it nicely for this spot.

The menu is full of great food options, ranging from small plates like Bison Nachos and Karen‘s “Flying-D” Bison Chili to entrees like the Bison Meatloaf Sandwich, Cedar Plank Salmon, and Ted’s Bacon Cheeseburger. They even have gluten-free options with a dedicated menu.

But what’s truly a showstopper at Ted’s (and my personal favorite) is the Delmonico Ribeye, an aged and hand-cut slab of Montana-raised bison finished with lemon butter. Bison is a leaner cut of meat and Ted’s Montana Grill does it justice. Pair and eat it with a glass of red wine or a cocktail from the bar and you’re good to go!

Pro tip: Ted’s Montana Grill is in the same building as the famous and historic Baxter Hotel, so it’s one of the best food spots if you’re staying there when in town.

Tanglewood is one of those restaurants that are perfect for indecisive eaters. Not sure if you want Italian or a burger joint? They’ve got you covered. Want pizza but also craving some southern fried chicken? Tanglewood is the perfect joint in town, with menu items ranging from comfort foods we all know and love to plates with unique twists and flavors.

Pro tip: Make your way there between 4-6 pm daily to catch their happy hour. The food and drink menu is delicious and comes at a nice price cut.

Sometimes a steak is too much, and pasta is just too heavy. For those seeking a healthier dining choice in town, The Well Juicery is the place to be. Founded by Sierra Brask in 2021, this health-focused eatery offers a wide range of fresh juices, smoothies, and nutritious meals.

Even the most serious of health enthusiasts are sure to find something to love here.

On the days I went out for a hike at College M Steep Trail or even skiing at nearby Big Sky, I found myself craving a refreshing Acai Bowl from The Well Juicery afterward. Their smoothies and cold-pressed juices make for a great pre-workout too!

Locally famous for its handcrafted homemade pasta and wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas, Blackbird provides a cozy and warm ambiance that’s just right for a romantic date night or a relaxing night out with family or friends.

The restaurant takes pride in its artisanal approach, with a menu that uses mostly seasonal ingredients. For example, the Margherita pizza is made with fresh tomatoes, hand-stretched mozzarella, and fresh daily basil. Other good food options that I love to get whenever I go are the Funghi pizza, the Kale Salad, and the Tortelli Di Zucca.

Along with the great food, Blackbird offers a huge selection of wines and craft cocktails, making it a complete dining destination if you want something a bit more on the romantic or fancy side. The great service is as good as it gets.

Tip: Be sure to check out their weekend brunch menu, which features unique dishes such as the Blackbird Benedict and the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. And if you happen to have dietary restrictions, the restaurant provides gluten-free pasta and pizza menu items to choose from.

They have a huge range of pizza options ranging from classics like cheese and pepperoni pizza to more creative pies like the Reuben (corned beef and 1000 island dressing), Thai Pie (Thai peanut sauce, chicken, and mandarin oranges), and BBQ Pizza (barbecue chicken).

Aside from the tons of pizzas to choose from, MacKenzie River also serves up a wide range of sandwiches, fresh salads, and pasta, ensuring there’s something for just about everyone. Yes, even that picky eater in the group.

What’s not to love? MacKenzie River Pizza Co. is easily one of the best Bozeman restaurants that celebrate Montana roots. It’s especially a great place for pizza lovers.

I’ve only been here twice, but I was hooked by the John Wayne roll, the Spider Roll, and the Widespread Panic roll. I started with the Tokyo Tacos the first time and had Dave’s Sushi Salad on the second round out there– both had me wanting to eat more than my fair share.

Whether you’re a seasoned sushi aficionado (like myself) or just starting to explore the world of Japanese food, Dave’s is one of the best Bozeman restaurants right in the mix of all the action.

Craving some good ol’ American comfort food? Sidewinders American Grill is your go-to of Bozeman restaurants. This joint is a hit for its hearty American classics – think juicy burgers, stacked sandwiches, and a whole lot more. The vibe here is super welcoming and down-to-earth, making it a go-to for anyone looking for a chill spot to eat and hang out. Plus, they’ve got this awesome rooftop patio where you can soak up some of that unmatched Montana sky views while you munch.

On my last trip, I chose to try their Sidewinder Burger based on the waiter’s recommendation. And to be honest, it’s probably one of the best burgers I’ve tried in Bozeman. As for the beer selection, this Bozeman hotspot has a bunch of local brews on tap, perfect for washing down that burger.

Fork & Spoon

All of the places on this list are great, but Fork & Spoon is easily one of my favorites of all Bozeman restaurants. If you’re looking for a truly unique dining experience, make sure to visit Fork & Spoon, Bozeman’s first pay-what-you-can restaurant.

With the unique pay-what-you-can model, everyone and anyone can get amazing locally sourced food, regardless of how much (or little) you pay. This makes me feel so good eating here because when I pay for my meal, I’m helping to fund a meal for someone else who doesn’t have the means to pay. It’s a win-win.

On top of that, they don’t compromise on flavor at Fork & Spoon. All of the food at this restaurant is made from scratch and locally sourced, with a dinner menu that changes and rotates daily.

The atmosphere is as warm as a home kitchen, and the diverse food menu, featuring everything from comforting stews to fresh salads, is always a good choice when in town.
